Air Itam Sister Curry Mee
The famous Lim sisters have been selling their curry mee in Ayer Itam for over 70 years. The sisters and their dish are so dear to all that they have recently been immortalised in the form of a wall mural at the Ayer Itam market. The sisters have retired a few years ago and have since passed the baton to their grandniece, so rest assured that you can still taste it the next time you’re there.

Oh Chien at New Lane Hawker Centre

The Fried Oyster Omelette or Oh Chien’s in Penang are generally less starchy so you can enjoy the juiciness of the oysters themselves. Fried with eggs to “wok hei” perfection, this dish can be enjoyed as it is for more brininess, or dipped in chili for a hint of tangyness and sizzle.
